Taymouth Castle Golf Club - Junior Golf Coaching

Taymouth Castle Golf Club is committed to furthering the development of golf in the local area. Building on the sessions which the Club's Honorary Professional Gavin Dott has been running and in conjunction with Kenmore Primary School, the Club is running a coaching programme for junior golfers.

As part of the national Clubgolf Scotland initiative the coaching programme, which is geared to the needs and abilities of children between the ages of 7 and 17, is led by Gavin Dott supported by three members of the Club who are qualified PGA Level 1 coaches. The 2011 season of coaching finished on 24 September with the competition for the Lenzie Trophy (see below). Following the successful running of the sessions for the past 3 years it is hoped the coaching programme will recommence in April 2012.

Lenzie Trophy  

The 2011 programme of junior golf coaching at Taymouth Castle Golf Club culiminated on 24 September with a competition to find the Best Junior Golfer and the awarding of the Lenzie Trophy. A closely contested match was played over the Aberfeldy course, with the Trophy being won by Padraig Cowan with his brother Iain in second place and Angus Hulbert a close third.
